You work unseen

You toil through the day

Often at night

With little or no pay

No one sees you

No-one to sound the chime

Appreciations silent

Yet you sacrifice your time

You don’t complain

When a thank you goes unsaid

Your feathers are not ruffled

You just plod along instead

No pat on shoulder,

No spot light just for you

But you continue to sweat

Until the job is through

You work behind close doors

In secret you give of your best

You don’t sound a trumpet

And you rarely stop for rest

But someone is watching you

He can see behind the screen

And your reward is certain

As you work behind the scene
